The Jackboots Are Coming: Police State Democracy and the Politics of Fear

June 20, 2019

We have seen it in Britain, in the way the elected members of our parliament have tried to block our leaving the EU and overturn the democratically expressed will of the people who voted to disassociate the country from the undemoctatic and increasingly authoritatian European Union, in the way voices of campaigners against the appeasement of Islamic extremists by national and local government, such as Tommy Robinson, have been suppressed, in the way laws are applied differently to certain ethinic and religious groups than it is to the European and Christian / Jewish / Hindu / Secular groups, we have seen it in the EU, in the way the Brussels bureaucracy tried to prevent the democratically elected coalition of League and Five Star forming a government and the way anti – EU governments elected in Greece and Portugal have been disrupted by EU actions, the the way the results of referenda in France and Netherlands on the European Constitution and in Ireland,  on the Lisbon Treaty have been overturned.

We have had plenty of warnings, now people are writing content like the article below will enough people wake up to what is going on in our world?

The Jackboots Are Coming: Mass Arrests, Power Grabs and The Politics Of Fear
By John W Whitehead – The Rutherford Institute

Never has our future been more unpredictable, never have we depended so much on political forces that cannot be trusted to follow the rules of common sense and self-interest—forces that look like sheer insanity, if judged by the standards of other centuries.” ― Hannah Arendt, The Origins of Totalitarianism

How do you persuade a populace to embrace totalitarianism, that goose-stepping form of tyranny in which the government has all of the power and “we the people” have none?

You persuade the people that the menace they face (imaginary or not) is so sinister, so overwhelming, so fearsome that the only way to surmount the danger is by empowering the government to take all necessary steps to quash it, even if that means allowing government jackboots to trample all over the Constitution.

This is how you use the politics of fear to persuade a freedom-loving people to shackle themselves to a dictatorship.

It works the same way every time.

The government’s overblown, extended wars on terrorism, drugs, violence and illegal immigration have been convenient ruses used to terrorized the populace into relinquishing more of their freedoms in exchange for elusive promises of security.

The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Case in point: on June 17, the same day President Trump announced that the government would be making mass arrests in order to round up and forcibly remove millions of illegal immigrants—including families and children—from the country, the U.S. Supreme Court handed down a ruling in Gamble v. United States that placed the sovereignty (i.e., the supreme power or authority) of federal and state governments over that of the citizenry, specifically as it relates to the government’s ability to disregard the Constitution’s Double Jeopardy Clause.

At first glance, the two incidents—one relating to illegal immigration and the other to the government’s prosecutorial powers—don’t have much to do with each other, and yet there is a common thread that binds them together.

That common thread speaks to the nature of the government beast we have been saddled with and how it views the rights and sovereignty of “we the people.”

Now you don’t hear a lot about sovereignty anymore.

Sovereignty is a dusty, antiquated term that harkens back to an age when kings and emperors ruled with absolute power over a populace that had no rights. Americans turned the idea of sovereignty on its head when they declared their independence from Great Britain and rejected the absolute authority of King George III. In doing so, Americans claimed for themselves the right to self-government and established themselves as the ultimate authority and power.

In other words, in America, “we the people”— sovereign citizens—call the shots.

So when the government acts, it is supposed to do so at our bidding and on our behalf, because we are the rulers.

That’s not exactly how it turned out, though, is it?

In the 200-plus years since we boldly embarked on this experiment in self-government, we have been steadily losing ground to the government’s brazen power grabs, foisted upon us in the so-called name of national security.

The government has knocked us off our rightful throne. It has usurped our rightful authority. It has staged the ultimate coup. Its agents no longer even pretend that they answer to “we the people.”

So you see, the two incidents on June 17 were not hugely significant in and of themselves.

Trump’s plan to carry out mass arrests of anyone the government suspects might be an illegal immigrant, and the Supreme Court’s recognition that the government can sidestep the Constitution for the sake of expediency are merely more of the same abuses that have been heaped upon us in recent years.

Yet these incidents speak volumes about how far our republic has fallen and how desensitized “we the people” have become to this constant undermining of our freedoms.

How do we reconcile the Founders’ vision of our government as an entity whose only purpose is to serve the people with the police state’s insistence that the government is the supreme authority, that its power trumps that of the people themselves, and that it may exercise that power in any way it sees fit (that includes government agents crashing through doors, mass arrests, ethnic cleansing, racial profiling, indefinite detentions without due process, and internment camps)?

They cannot be reconciled. They are polar opposites.

We are fast approaching a moment of reckoning where we will be forced to choose between the vision of what America was intended to be (a model for self-governance where power is vested in the people) and the reality of what she has become (a police state where power is vested in the government).

This slide into totalitarianism—helped along by overcriminalization, government surveillance, militarized police, neighbors turning in neighbors, privatized prisons, and forced labor camps, to name just a few similarities—is tracking very closely with what happened in Germany in the years leading up to Hitler’s rise to power.

We are walking a dangerous path right now.

The horrors of the Nazi concentration camps weren’t kept secret from the German people. They were well-publicized. As The Guardian reports:

The mass of ordinary Germans did know about the evolving terror of Hitler’s Holocaust… They knew concentration camps were full of Jewish people who were stigmatised as sub-human and race-defilers. They knew that these, like other groups and minorities, were being killed out of hand. They knew that Adolf Hitler had repeatedly forecast the extermination of every Jew on German soil. They knew these details because they had read about them. They knew because the camps and the measures which led up to them had been prominently and proudly reported step by step in thousands of officially-inspired German media articles and posters… The reports, in newspapers and magazines all over the country were phases in a public process of “desensitisation” which worked all too well, culminating in the killing of 6m Jews….

Likewise, the mass of ordinary Americans are fully aware of the Trump Administration’s efforts to stigmatize and dehumanize any and all who do not fit with the government’s plans for this country.

These mass arrests of anyone suspected of being an illegal immigrant may well be the shot across the bow.

You see, it’s a short hop, skip and a jump from allowing government agents to lock large swaths of the population up in detention centers unless or until they can prove that they are not only legally in the country to empowering government agents to subject anyone—citizen and noncitizen alike—to similar treatment unless or until they can prove that they are in compliance with every statute and regulation on the books, and not guilty of having committed some crime or other.

It’s no longer a matter of if, but when.

You may be innocent of wrongdoing now, but when the standard for innocence is set by the government, no one is safe. Everyone is a suspect, and anyone can be a criminal when it’s the government determining what is a crime.

Remember, the police state does not discriminate.

At some point, once the government has been given the power to do whatever it wants—the Constitution be damned—it will not matter whether you’re an illegal immigrant or a citizen by birth, a law-breaker or someone who marches in lockstep with the government’s dictates. Government jails will detain you just as easily whether you’ve obeyed every law or broken a dozen. And government agents will treat you like a suspect, whether or not you’ve done anything wrong, simply because they have been trained to view and treat everyone like potential criminals.

Eventually, all that will matter is whether some government agent—poorly trained, utterly ignorant of the Constitution, way too hyped up on the power of their badges, and authorized to detain, search, interrogate, threaten and generally harass anyone they see fit—chooses to single you out for special treatment.

We’ve been having this same debate about the perils of government overreach for the past 50-plus years, and still we don’t seem to learn, or if we learn, we learn too late.

All of the excessive, abusive tactics employed by the government today—warrantless surveillance, stop and frisk searches, SWAT team raids, roadside strip searches, asset forfeiture schemes, private prisons, indefinite detention, militarized police, etc.—started out as a seemingly well-meaning plan to address some problem in society that needed a little extra help.

Be careful what you wish for: you will get more than you bargained for, especially when the government’s involved.

Remember, nothing is ever as simple as the government claims it is.

The war on drugs turned out to be a war on the American people, waged with SWAT teams and militarized police.

The war on terror turned out to be a war on the American people, waged with warrantless surveillance and indefinite detention.

The war on immigration is turning out to be yet another war on the American people, waged with roving government agents demanding “papers, please.”

Whatever dangerous practices you allow the government to carry out now—whether it’s in the name of national security or protecting America’s borders or making America great again—rest assured, these same practices can and will be used against you when the government decides to set its sights on you.

If you’re inclined to advance this double standard because you believe you have done nothing wrong and have nothing to hide, beware: there’s always a boomerang effect.

As commentator Shaun Kenney observed:

What civil liberties are you willing to surrender in the apprehension of 12 million people? Knock and drags? Detention centers? Checkpoints? House-to-house searches? Papers, please? Will we be racially profiling folks to look for or are we talking about people of Chinese… Indian… Irish… Polish… Italian… people-who-might-look-like-you descent as well? If the federal government makes a 1% rounding error and accidentally deports an American citizen, that’s 120,000 Americans… what means will be used to restore their rights? Who will remunerate them for their financial loss? Restore their lost homes? Personal property? Families? … What happens when these means are turned against some other group of undesirables in America by a president who does not share your political persuasion, but can now justify the act based on previous justifications?

We are all at risk.

The law of reciprocity applies here. The flip side of that Golden Rule, which calls for us to treat others as we would have them treat us, is that we shouldn’t inflict on others what we wouldn’t want to suffer ourselves.

In other words, if you don’t want to be locked up in a prison cell or a detention camp—if you don’t want to be discriminated against because of the color of your race, religion, politics or anything else that sets you apart from the rest—if you don’t want your loved ones shot at, strip searched, tasered, beaten and treated like slaves—if you don’t want to have to be constantly on guard against government eyes watching what you do, where you go and what you say—if you don’t want to be tortured, waterboarded or forced to perform degrading acts—if you don’t want your children to be forcibly separated from you, caged and lost—then don’t allow these evils to be inflicted on anyone else, no matter how compelling a case the government makes for it or how fervently you believe in the cause.

You can’t have it both ways.

You can’t live in a constitutional republic if you allow the government to act like a police state.

You can’t claim to value freedom if you allow the government to operate like a dictatorship.

You can’t expect to have your rights respected if you allow the government to treat whomever it pleases with disrespect and an utter disregard for the rule of law.

Indeed, when the government is allowed to operate as a law unto itself, the rule of law itself becomes illegitimate. As Martin Luther King Jr. pointed out in his Letter from a Birmingham Jail, “everything Adolf Hitler did in Germany was ‘legal’ and everything the Hungarian freedom fighters did in Hungary was ‘illegal.’ It was ‘illegal’ to aid and comfort a Jew in Hitler’s Germany.”

In other words, there comes a time when law and order are in direct opposition to justice.

Isn’t that what the American Revolution was all about?

Finally, if anyone suggests that the government’s mass immigration roundups and arrests are just the government doing its job to fight illegal immigration, don’t buy it.

This is not about illegal immigration. It’s about power and control.

It’s about testing the waters to see how far the American people will allow the government to go in re-shaping the country in the image of a totalitarian police state.

It’s about the rise of an “emergency state” that justifies all manner of government misconduct and power grabs in the so-called name of national security.

It’s about how much tyranny “we the people” will tolerate before we find our conscience and our voice.

It’s about how far we will allow the government to go in its efforts to distract and divide us and turn us into a fearful, easily controlled populace.

Ultimately, it’s about whether we believe—as the Founders did—that our freedoms are inherently ours and that the government is only as powerful as we allow it to be. Freedom does not flow from the government. It was not given to us, to be taken away at the will of the State. In the same way, the government’s appointed purpose is not to threaten or undermine our freedoms, but to safeguard them.

We must get back to this way of thinking if we are to ever stand our ground in the face of threats to those freedoms.

As I make clear in my book Battlefield America: The War on the American People, it’s time to draw that line in the sand.

The treatment being meted out to anyone that looks like an illegal immigrant is only the beginning. Eventually we will all be in the government’s crosshairs for one reason or another.

This is the start of the slippery slope.

Martin Niemöller understood this. A Lutheran minister who was imprisoned and executed for opposing Hitler’s regime, Niemoller warned:

First they came for the Socialists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Socialist. Then they came for the Trade Unionists, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Trade Unionist. Then they came for the Jews, and I did not speak out—Because I was not a Jew. Then they came for me—and there was no one left to speak for me.

Democracy in Europe threatened by ‘populism,’ (aka democracy) says Blair’s crony think tank

December 30, 2017

The upsurge of “populist” political movements across Europe as resistance grows to state sponsored mass immigration and European authoritarianism, is, according to globalist, neo – liberal think tank set up by former UK Prime Minister, traitor and war criminal Tony Blair,  threatens to destabilize democracy across Europe. However, its new report says nothing of the abject failure of multiculturalism, the importation of terrorism and third world lawlessness, the economic profligacy, murderous foreign interventions and general corruption of traditional parties of government whose ineptitude and cronyism is responsible for all this.

While globalists like Blair and neo – liberal world government advocates use the term populist scathingly as if it refers to something unthinkable in the free world, in fact is simply refers to politicians who listen and respond to public opinion, particularly the concerns of voters unhappy that their countries are being run by self styled elites who are totally out of touch with the realities of life.

Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair’s Institute for Global Change said populism could become the “new normal” in Europe and “transform public policy in radical ways.” Would that be a bad thing, you might well ask.

Defining populist parties as those from the left and right that “claim to represent the true will of a unified people against domestic elites, foreign migrants or ethnic, religious or sexual minorities,” the report says their number has almost doubled in Europe since 2000, from 33 to 63, and their average vote share in elections nearly trebled from 8.5 percent to 24.1 percent.

Over the same period, the authors claim, the number of European countries with populist parties participating in government has doubled from seven to 14 – creating an unprecedented “populist belt” from the Baltic to the Aegean. And in larger nations including France and Germany, where socialists and conservatives, natural enemies among the mainstream parties, have conspired to keep parties such as Front National and Alternatif fur Deutschland out of power, the resulting chaos it exacting a heavy price economically and socially.) (Since the inconclusive German election in September, Chancellor Merkel has been unable to form a government.) After a blatant stitch up in Spain kept new anti – EU leftist party Podemos out of power, a separatist movement in the wealthiest province is finding a lot of support for its push for independence.

Populist parties are the strongest in Eastern Europe and currently hold power in eight countries – Austria, Bosnia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, and Slovakia, the report says.

The report highlighted British allies Poland and Hungary as run by parties that have begun to “dismantle key democratic institutions.”’ This is in fact not true, they have actually begun to dismantle the processes that give the unelected bureaucrats of the European Commission supremacy over the democratically elected lawmakers of the national assemblies.

It’s Only Your Money Until The Globalists Say It’s Theirs

July 29, 2017

The EU (Euronazi) bureaucrats have come up with a splendid new scheme to fill the hole in the EU budget that is already threatening the future of the bloc and will go critical after Brexit which will leave Germany as the only net contributor to the budget. They are going to claim that all the money in the EU belongs to the EU. If there is the slightest hint that a government has a problem servicing its debts or a bank, any bank in the EU, does not have enough capital to meet its obligations, you had better get your money out yesterday.

In fact it might be a good idea to get your money out and put it in offshore investment trusts anyway.

Although it’s your money, the EU have decided they have the right to freeze Personal Accounts to prevent financial problems blossoming into crisesfreeze Personal Accounts to prevent financial problems blossoming into crises. And one they have taken control of your accounts, they will also have the right to do what they like with your money.

Or to put it in the anodyne, non scary language bureaucrats prefer:

European Union states are considering measures which would allow them to temporarily stop people withdrawing money from their accounts to prevent bank runs, an EU document reviewed by Reuters revealed.

The move is aimed at helping rescue lenders that are deemed failing or likely to fail, but critics say it could hit confidence and might even hasten withdrawals at the first rumors of a bank being in trouble.

The proposal, which has been in the works since the beginning of this year, comes less than two months after a run on deposits at Banco Popular contributed to the collapse of the Spanish lender.

Giving supervisors the power to temporarily block bank accounts at ailing lenders is “a feasible option,” a paper prepared by the Estonian presidency of the EU said, acknowledging that member states were divided on the issue.

EU countries which already allow a moratorium on bank payouts in insolvency procedures at national level, like Germany, support the measure, officials said.

“The desire is to prevent a bank run, so that when a bank is in a critical situation it is not pushed over the edge,” a person familiar with German government’s thinking said.

The Estonian proposal was discussed by EU envoys on July 13 but no decision was made, an EU official said. Discussions were due to continue in September. Approval of EU lawmakers would be required for any final decision.

Under the plan discussed by EU states, pay-outs could be suspended for five working days and the block could be extended to a maximum of 20 days in exceptional circumstances, the Estonian document said.

Spooking Customers

Charlie Bannister of the Association for Financial Markets in Europe (AFME) says “We strongly believe that this would incentivize depositors to run from a bank at an early stage.” Why Might Customers Want to Run?

Here are a trillion reasons: There are over €1 trillion nonperforming loans (both government and private debt) held by EU commercial and central banks right now and the figure is growing every month. Non performing loans are those on which no interests or less that the contracted rate of interest is being paid.

Non-Performing Loans
Italy, Greece, Spain, Portugal, and Ireland have a combined €606 billion in non-performing loans.

The entire European banking system is over-leveraged, under-capitalized, and propped up by QE from the ECB. Simply put, the EU banking system is insolvent.

That the EU has to consider such drastic measures proves the point.

Divisions In British Society Will Destroy Brexit Says Writer From The Most Divided Society In Europe

June 24, 2017

Recently came upon an article in an online news site that ought to know better, describing how the deep and irreconcilable divisions in British society (deeper than those in France, Germany or the USA according to the author) will ensure Brexit is a disaster.

It was the most ill – informed, bigoted piece of shite I have ever read.

London Bridge Is Down
Authored by Raul Ilargi Meijer via The Automatic Earth blog,

The French election, won overnight by Emmanuel Macron, put several segments of the French population opposite one another in a pretty fierce contest. And that contest will continue. Because Macron won’t be able to lift the French economy out of its doldrums any more than Le Pen could have, or than Trump can life the US, and the new president will have the honor of presiding over a further and deepening downturn. The French political dividing line was aptly described by Simon Kuper recently:

The ultra-nationalist writer Charles Maurras believed there were “two Frances”. The one he loved was the “pays réel”, the real country: a rural France of church clocks, traditions and native people fused with their ancestral soil. Maurras loathed the “pays légal”, the legal country: the secular republic, which he thought was run by functionaries conspiring for alien interests.

Maurras was born in 1868 and died in 1952. But if he returned on Sunday to witness the French presidential run-off, he would instantly recognise both candidates. He would cast Emmanuel Macron as the incarnation of the “legal France” and Marine Le Pen as embodying the “real” one.

Maurras may have been a questionable character, but that description is not half bad. Once enough people in the country understand the failure of ‘legal’ France, they will want ‘real’ France back. That will be true in countries all over Europe; to a large extent it already is. Marine Le Pen summed up the key issue really well a few days ago when she said of the country post election: “France will be led by a woman, me or Mrs. Merkel.”

There is only one reason the French people would ever tolerate Germany having an outsized influence in their politics and economics: that they feel they benefit from it financially. And yes, if you put it that way, it’s already quite something that they haven’t revolted more and earlier.

The generous unemployment benefits are undoubtedly part of that. But those can’t last. And since the Germans owe their influence in Paris to the EU, it’s obvious how the French will feel they can stop that influence. And then the EU will turn out to be not a peacemaker, but the opposite.

Still, as much as France is divided, and as serious as that division is, the country is a shining beacon of unity compared to the UK, where the dividing lines are as manifold as they are laced with toxins. The snap election PM Theresa May called, in just over a month, can do nothing to resolve any of it. That means the EU can do what they want in the Brexit negotiations. Which will therefore be an unparalleled disaster for May and the UK.

The EU can and will ‘have its way’ with the UK for one simple reason: the United Kingdom is anything but United. It makes no difference what the EU does to the UK, the British won’t blame them for it. They will blame each other instead. No matter what happens these days, the British always know in advance who’s to blame, and it’s never themselves; it’s always another group of Brits.

The Tories are deeply divided between pro- and anti-Brexit forces. Labour is divided along those same lines, and adds pro- and anti-Corbyn sentiments for good measure. Other parties don’t really matter much, but they have similar dividing lines as well.

Anti-Corbyn Labour MPs have convinced themselves they know better than pro-Corbyn party members. They’ve kept claiming for so long that Corbyn is unelectable it’s become a self-fulfilling prophecy. They’ll be lucky not to face the fate of their former brethren in François Hollande’s Parti Socialiste, who ended up with just 6% of the vote in the 1st round of the French elections.

PM Theresa May called the snap election for June 8 to hide some of the divisions behind, to make them appear less relevant, or even to profit from them and grab more power. But the very fact that Brexit was voted in, already makes the election nigh irrelevant.

Whoever wins, and it looks certain to be May herself. will open themselves to being scapegoated in a big way. Which won’t keep them from seeking victory, because the loser can expect the same fate. The trenches have been dug, and deeply. Governable? Don’t count on it. It feels more like 40 years later we’re back to Johnny Rotten ‘singing’ Anarchy in the UK.

If May threatens to leave the EU ‘cold’ and trigger a ‘Hard Brexit’, she will simultaneously trigger a whole lot more, and much wider, divisions in the country (or is that countries?!), and that’s even without mentioning an entire minefield of legal, and potentially constitutional, issues. The latter especially because Britain doesn’t have an actual -written- constitution.

For Brussels, it’s easy pickings, and pick they will. This week, they casually raised the UK’s cost of leaving the EU to €100 billion, from estimates varying from €40 billion to €60 billion before. Paddy Power and its equally powerful bookie ilk soon won’t be taking any bets below, say, €150 billion. In that regard, and many others, the EU will do to the UK what it is doing to Greece.

The only way to stand up against that is to show a common front. But there will be no such thing in the Divided Kingdom, not for a long time. Everyone has their favorite scapegoat, for some it’s Nigel Farage, for others David Cameron, George Osborne, Tony Blair, Jeremy Corbyn or Theresa May. And nobody is going to leave their blame trenches. They’re the only places they feel somewhat comfortable, less scared, in.

Theresa May, if the polls are to be believed -and given the divisions we might for once-, will have to sit down and negotiate with the multi-headed Hydra that is the EU, ‘strengthened’ by a major election victory, but she will find it the ultimate Pyrrhic victory, because Brussels will have a ball playing her divided ‘nation’.

Scotland can probably easily be seduced with the carrot of EU membership, but more importantly, Juncker and his people can cast doubt on the entire Brexit vote, and they will have many interested takers.

The Brexit negotiations will take at least 2 years. But it could be 3 or 4 years, who knows? May has no power over that durationm unless she walks. She won’t. And as things are drawn out, Juncker et al have all the time and opportunities they want to tell both May and the British public that Brussels has no intention of punishing them, but will have to do so anyway.

After all, Brexit is a threat to the entire European project, and all the leaders of the 27 remaining nations, as well as the vast majority of their domestic opposition parties, are behind that project, no questions asked. And the many thousands of people working their very well-paid jobs in Brussels and Strasbourg are not too critical either.

All in all, the British need to wake up and smell the roses as long as there are any left, and before they have been replaced with less savory odors. Or they will have to seriously wonder whether the Kingdom, united or not, can outlive the Queen, aka the London Bridge.

“London Bridge is Down” was recently revealed as the secret UK government code for the moment the Queen dies.

I call total Bullshit on this article written by persons either with an axe to grind or a lack of understanding of UK politics. Or both.

There may be some still semi-hidden more nefarious reasons (involving election rigging in the last election) to call the Poll now but essentially the Labour Party is in complete disarray under the “leadership” of communist Corbyn. Labour don’t seem to understand that you can’t win an election in a Western Libaeral democracy from anywhere other than the centre, as Le Pen just found out. Further, May was still largely operating under the mandate of Cameron and so not fully legitimate. Blair (that well known war criminal who should be in jail, but never mind for the purposes of the point to be made here) understood this very well and “New Labour won power from the centre. “Old Labour” under Corbyn will any election from the left.

For both of these reasons, may sensed an ideal opportunity to strengthen her majority (at present very small overall) and create her own mandate. Show me any politician who, faced with the same circumstances, would not have done exactly the same?

The outcome will be an enormous Conservative majority which will allow her a stronger hand in Brexit negotiations, such as they may be as the Brussels collective have already made it abundantly clear that they have no intention to negotiate in good faith. In fact, many are now wondering why waste 2 years and not just pull out now to avoid wasting 2 years in useless negotiations whicgh are likely to end in “no deal”. British industry can accept a return to WTO trade rules either indefinitely or until the German car manufacturers force Brussels to make a trade deal. And if the City loses out, so be it. The UK economy is over-dependent on criminal finance and it would be an ideal opportunity to re-balance the economy anyway.

So May and the UK will be in a much stronger position with a resounding mandate from the British people to get us out of the clutches of the unelected megalomaniacs in Brussels (Not to mention Pedophiles and Drunkards)

Again, I call major Bullshit on this article.

I have to agree. This doesn’t seem to reflect any facet of British society that I know about, although I am an ex-Brit, so might be out of touch.

1. Whilst Brits do like to play the blame game, they NEVER turn down an opportunity to wallop the Frogs, and the next two years are going to be an endless parade of Frogs in barrels for shooting purposes.

2. Scotland can whine and winge all it wants, they know that Europe will treat them like Greece, and they know that the UK will stop funding their profligate government. Given that the oil income is ever decreasing, it becomes more irrelevant. Finally, no new referendum until UK is out of eu, so utterly irrelevant. Do we see Scots rioting over being allowed to stay within eu? I don’t.

3. The Labour party. Enough said.

4. The lib dems weren’t even mentioned in the article, quite rightly as they are utterly irrelevant.

5. Seems to me that the Brits are actually quite united, in that the entirety of Europe is against them, backs to the wall, fight them on the beaches. If Spain tries to upset BritBot by messing with Gibraltar, all hell will break loose.

So, on balance, I believe the exact opposite of the article is the situation on the ground. Posh winebars in Knightsbridge might suggest otherwise, but London is NOT the UK.

Sirius Wonderblast's picture

Yup. The article is drooling nonsense. Unless its’ author thinks that every single person will at all times be in accord then it will always be possible to point to differences of opinion. Living here, I absolutely do not sense – outside perhaps of Londonistan and from the SNP (as distinct from Scots) – any dissent over the Brexit.

London is so different from the rest of the UK that in may ways, it is like somewhere else. Some areas more than others, mind you – Tower Hamlets, for instance.

May has astutely taken the opportunity to increase her majority, which looks like a shoo-in – while Labour and UKIP both are rudderless. I il say I admire Corbyn’s adherence to conviction politics, and the Labour membership’s support of him and his/their principles. It highlights the bankruptcy fo the parliamentary Labour Party and the slimeball politicians that make it up. Sadly, it is not enough to gain traction in an election in what is stil a largely somatised country. While folk can get BMWs and Audi’s on easy terms, who wants to fight for workers (or anyone else’s) rights?

Fact is, the EU has long been disliked, since its germ as the EEC really. Tampering with fairly minor matters of weigths and measures, however, was overtaken by the bombast and federalism, and feathering of nests, of the EU “elite” and their handsomely paid minions. Now we get the threats, coercion and general unmasking of the beast per Drunckard’s recent bile, which serve to prove the right choice was made. Now, threaten Britons with whatever dreamed up impositions, call them threats, call tem attacks, and you will see increased unity among us. At the same time, you will see – as has been the case – the division between those such a Cluncker at the Commission, and Tusk at the Council. Perhaps Tusk, federalist as he is, seems more hope for the EU if it can trade successfully with us than if not, which would seem wise.

Once the UK is out of the EU, the impetus for Scottish break away is liley to wither rather rapidly. Whither then Sturgeon’s pension?

What did anyone really expect after the way the PIIGS were treated? Now try it on with one of the big boys, you bunch of f*cking pussies. See how far you get.

The Islington set, it’s pseudo-intellectual fans in the BBC and a diminishing number of Snowflake-esque Remainers may cry their eyes out about it, but get around the country and you will find a good deal of unity and a rather visceral dislike of the EU and the people like Wancker who epitomise it.

Thus far May has it right. Call the election while the EU struts around like a pigeon (all Obama-style), then when it matters just don’t take the blindest bit of notce of their nonsense (Euro100bn demand included).

Got to agree, this is the most illinformed piece of guff I’ve read for a long time.

“For Brussels, it’s easy pickings, and pick they will. This week, they casually raised the UK’s cost of leaving the EU to €100 billion, from estimates varying from €40 billion to €60 billion before.”

News just in, I’m hearby raising the charge for stupidity from £400 to £8000, it is apparently easy to get money off you if you truly believe we will pay anything at all?

“Paddy Power and its equally powerful bookie ilk soon won’t be taking any bets below, say, €150 billion. In that regard, and many others, the EU will do to the UK what it is doing to Greece.”

Lol.  Seriously, I wouldn’t take any bets below €150 billion either, afterall, why would I want to lose money when making a bet?

The conservative party has for a long time had a very large split in it.  It started in 1972 when a lot of them thought they were joining a economic agreement or getting leverage over Europe etc etc, a few realized exactly what it was.  And the split has been getting more painful since with the problem being its much harder to overturn the status quo than continue with it.

If the vote last year had been to JOIN the EU then I reckon it would have been 30 to 70% against, and that is being optimistic.

The real news is France has commited to being behind the EU tariff wall when the UK leaves the EU, that means US and other companies can sell a product at between 12% to 40% cheaper if their cost of production is cheaper and the UK has a free trade agreement with them.

For us a free trade agreement with a country like the US is a no-brainer, for the US its a unique opportunity to take over EU market share.  When Le Pen gets in in 2022 it is going to be very hard for French companies to get back in, but the economic pain will really be something to behold, maybe the French will lead the way in sweeping the Muslims out, just the lower security costs would be a compelling economic advantage.

Polish Government Policy To Suppress Discussion Of Holocaust

May 5, 2016

by Ian R Thorpe
This blog does not get many readers, it was never intended to the reason for keeping it going is to do with Search Engine Optimisation for other blogs. So not many people will have seen our previous post about a German historian questioning the official narrative on the Holocaust. Those who did however, might have wondered why we would post such a thing.

As the founder of the blog I will explain that neither I nor my colleagues question the fact that very bad things happened to members of Jewish communities in Germany and central Europe between 1933 and 1945. We all, have a questioning nature and did not believe (or disbelieve) the details but broadly the story stood up to examination.

Then it became fashionable among political activists to call for ‘Holocaust Denial’, the opinions of people who claimed the story of mass exterminations, was not true to be criminalised. And that made us suspicious because we all believe in free speech. Only fascist regimes try to suppress open debate, and as far as all of us are concerned, because in the medieval era we would have been executed for our rejection of God, Jesus and the Church, we defend the right of people to question r reject something the authorities insist we accept is true. It is also no different to criminalising ‘climate change denial’, opposition to mass immigration, the introduction of Genetically Modified food crops or globalisation.

Criminalising ideas is the territory of tyrants, and as it becomes more obvious that the ruling elites are moving towards establishing a global totalitarian government, is it any wonder more people, if not exactly questioning The Holocaust, are questioning the eagerness to suppress free discussion of an event which has shaped much of the political evolution in the free world since 1945.

And since we started to question, it is clear there are a number of gaping holes in the Holocaust narrative, which apparently nobody wants to try to explain. Here’s another:

New Polish historical policy could silence Holocaust debates

WARSAW, Poland (via Associated Press) — Poland’s governing party is seeking to shape the country’s future by controlling perceptions of the past.

The conservative Law and Justice party’s strategy includes the use of museums, film, public television and other tools to promote certain episodes in Poland’s history, like the anti-communist resistance after World War II. More controversial, though, are attempts to suppress discussion and research into painful topics, primarily Polish violence against Jews during the Nazi occupation.

Law and Justice, which since last year has wielded more power than any party in post-communist times, sees the moves as harnessing history in a mission to build a stronger nation state. President Andrzej Duda said the nation’s new “historical policy offensive” aims to create a new generation of patriots and “to build up the country’s position in the international space.”

Critics see historical revisionism that will produce little beyond national self-righteousness and will prevent an honest reckoning with the country’s wartime history — an extremely complex story that includes suffering and heroism of the highest order but also cases of murder and betrayal by Poles of defenseless Jews.

EU Allocates Budget Of €billions To Sell Migrants back To Africa

August 31, 2015

The European Commission wants to offer an additional 1 billion euro (£726 million) to African countries if they agree to take back migrants arriving with no legitimate claims to asylum.

The measure is designed as an incentive to encourage African countries to repatriate their citizens whose asylum applications are rejected by EU states, according to German news magazine Der Spiegel.

The proposal comes as Martin Schulz, president of the European Parliament, accused many EU countries of playing an undignified game over the ongoing dispute on distributing refugees among European countries.

Mr Schulz called on European governments who have resisted EU proposals to agree to a common plan to do more to deal with the surging numbers of migrants fleeing poverty and war. (more …)

How long did it take you to spot the flaw in this latest farce from the Eurofuckwits of Brussels. Yes, that’s right, once you have sent the rent see kers back and handed over the money to their local village tyrant, what’s to stop him putting them on the next cattle truck back to Europe and getting paid again.

The Case For Border Controls

August 31, 2015
If people are stupid enough to crowd in such ridiculous numbers onto an obviously unseaworth vessel, what possible use can they be to a civilized society? (Image source)

Uncontrolled immigration is becoming the dominant issue in British politics despite the neo-fascist left’s efforts to suppress criticism of the idea that we should be happy to fill our cities and towns with illegal immigrants.

Well Labour lost the election and are now tearing themselves apart in an ideological battle leaving the sane, pragmatic and sensible with an open goal.

So here for the benefits of those emotionally crippled people who jump on every leftie internet meme in a quest for friends,’likes’, thumbs ups or arse kissing comments and are now screeching about how we desperately need more immigrants, is the case for strictly enforced border controls in a nutshell.

Two red squirrels sitting in a tree. One red squirrel says to the other red squirrel “Those poor foreign squirrels are welcome in our woods, they might be grey, but they’re still squirrels….”

A few years later …

Two grey squirels sitting in a tree. One gray squirrel says to the other gray squirrel, “As soon as there are enough of us we will kill all those red infidels.”

A hundred years later:

Mummy Squirrel and Baby squirrel are sitting in a tree, baby squirrels says to Mummy, “Muuuuuummmmm, is it true that squirrels used to be red?” Mummy squirrel fetches baby a smack round the lug and says, “Be careful what you say. Talking about indidel heresies is UnsquIslamic, if the SquImam hears, you could get us nutted to death.

What Crisis Says E U Boss Jean-Claude Drunkard

August 26, 2015

European Commission President Jean Claude Juncker dismissed calls for a new EU summit on immigration, saying member states should stop dragging their heels and implement existing agreements on the matter.

Juncker’s comments in an opinion piece published in France’s Le Figaro and Germany’s Die Welt on Monday come ahead of a meeting of Chancellor Angela Merkel and French President Francois Hollande in Berlin to discuss immigration.

Juncker repeated his criticism of European governments failing to take migrants from Italy and Greece where tens of thousands arrived by boat have over the last months to escape poverty and war in their home countries.

“We don’t need a new summit. Member states have to adopt the European measures and apply them to their territory,” he wrote.

Juncker added that the European Union should draw up a uniform list of “safe countries” to which migrants could be returned.

One Question?
Who the fuck does this nonentity, this alkie who breakfasts on brandy, this unelected poen pusher thing he is. We never voted to be governed by Brussels bureaucrats, all we voted for was to be members of a free trade area, ‘ever closer union’ and all that Euronazi bullshit that has crept in was never part of the deal.

Support UKIP or accept ultimate victory for those who are Adoilf Hitler’s successors.

But I’m not a callous person, I don’t think we should abandon our European partners to sink into third world dystiopias without our civilising influence. We should offer them all the oipportunity to become colonies in a reconvened British Empire (except for the Belgians because they’re boring.)

How the EU’s billions fund Brussels Beanos

Move over, Dennis the Menace. The European Union has produced a series of cartoon strips, games and colouring books that rival the antics of Minnie the Minx, Desperate Dan and other classic comic characters.

The cartoons teach children how EU cash has funded fire engines, hospital wards and infrastructure as part of a drive to counter the impression that the 28-member bloc is wasteful.

Children can also learn about the intricacies of the Common Agricultural Policy, the work of competition lawyers and the virtues of free movement.

One such comic, published recently by the Publications Office of the European Union, has the very Naziish title ‘On the Road to Victory’, and features a class of international students from Slovakia’s capital, Bratislava. “Inspired by the EU budget”, they take a trip across Europe.

The comic was drawn by two cartoonists under the guidance of the EU Directorate-General for Budget, which oversees the bloc’s €144

I love the way teacher says proudly there is only 1% fraud but omits to mention the other 99% is spent on vanity projects, social engineering initiative, eugenics programmes, and funding jollies to exotic destina tions for bureaucrats You don’t have to defraud the EU to enjoy a millionair lifestyle, just get yourself a seat on the gravy train. I speak from experience.

Britain to Crack Down on Illegal Working by Migrants
Illegal migrants found working in Britain will face jail and have their earnings seized under new measures announced by the government on Tuesday. The government has been ramping up its anti-immigration rhetoric in response to a spike in migrant attempts to reach Britain via the Channel Tunnel in France and is under pressure to show it is acting to deal with the crisis.

First they came for the Anglo – Celts … And I Did Not Speak Out

May 12, 2015

(via Graham Lear)

This what we at UKIP have been saying for years and if it does not frighten you then I am afraid you are all devoid of common sense.

Remember this video when you have to vote in the coming referendum on whether we stay in the European Union.

Remember also that in the last couple of years THIS European Union has foisted on everyone in these magnificent islands that we call home over 3,000 new laws that affect everyone of you.

By what authority have they managed to do this? They have managed to do this by the collusion of the very people that you voted for in the last General Election just last week. Tory, Labour, Lib Dems.

The only political party that does not and has not colluded with the European Union is the one party that all political party’s in the UK have ridiculed and that political party id UKIP. The same UKIP that 4 million very wise citizens of the UK voted for. All the rest of the citizens voted for the ones who have given over our freedom to the ones who would enslave us all.

EUROFASCISM IS COMING, BE AFRAID, BE VERY AFRAID
