Democracy in Europe threatened by ‘populism,’ (aka democracy) says Blair’s crony think tank

December 30, 2017

The upsurge of “populist” political movements across Europe as resistance grows to state sponsored mass immigration and European authoritarianism, is, according to globalist, neo – liberal think tank set up by former UK Prime Minister, traitor and war criminal Tony Blair,  threatens to destabilize democracy across Europe. However, its new report says nothing of the abject failure of multiculturalism, the importation of terrorism and third world lawlessness, the economic profligacy, murderous foreign interventions and general corruption of traditional parties of government whose ineptitude and cronyism is responsible for all this.

While globalists like Blair and neo – liberal world government advocates use the term populist scathingly as if it refers to something unthinkable in the free world, in fact is simply refers to politicians who listen and respond to public opinion, particularly the concerns of voters unhappy that their countries are being run by self styled elites who are totally out of touch with the realities of life.

Former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair’s Institute for Global Change said populism could become the “new normal” in Europe and “transform public policy in radical ways.” Would that be a bad thing, you might well ask.

Defining populist parties as those from the left and right that “claim to represent the true will of a unified people against domestic elites, foreign migrants or ethnic, religious or sexual minorities,” the report says their number has almost doubled in Europe since 2000, from 33 to 63, and their average vote share in elections nearly trebled from 8.5 percent to 24.1 percent.

Over the same period, the authors claim, the number of European countries with populist parties participating in government has doubled from seven to 14 – creating an unprecedented “populist belt” from the Baltic to the Aegean. And in larger nations including France and Germany, where socialists and conservatives, natural enemies among the mainstream parties, have conspired to keep parties such as Front National and Alternatif fur Deutschland out of power, the resulting chaos it exacting a heavy price economically and socially.) (Since the inconclusive German election in September, Chancellor Merkel has been unable to form a government.) After a blatant stitch up in Spain kept new anti – EU leftist party Podemos out of power, a separatist movement in the wealthiest province is finding a lot of support for its push for independence.

Populist parties are the strongest in Eastern Europe and currently hold power in eight countries – Austria, Bosnia, Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Serbia, and Slovakia, the report says.

The report highlighted British allies Poland and Hungary as run by parties that have begun to “dismantle key democratic institutions.”’ This is in fact not true, they have actually begun to dismantle the processes that give the unelected bureaucrats of the European Commission supremacy over the democratically elected lawmakers of the national assemblies.

How The Left Maipulates Language To Make Dangerous Ideass Seem Benign

March 24, 2017

<!– Authored by ReturnOfKings.com via The Burning Platform, –>

The political left, as they like to style themselves because it sounds less threatening than the more honest ‘authoritarian control freaks, bases much of its campaign rhetoric on conflict-mongering. Left wing political movements have always had as their raison d’ê that they are against something; capitalism, monarchy, religion, inequality, injustice, whether real or fantasized. In the past, when the social orders of the developed world were dominated by rigid class systems that prevented social mobility, left wing politics masked the real nature of what it stood for, replacing the old oppressive elite with a new, often more oppressive elite, by posing as something positive or progressive, the defenders of the working class (or more emotively, ‘the downtrodden masses’. To this end, generations of communists, socialists and paternalistic liberals twisted language to make themselves appear benign while the demon of the day (capitalism, conservatism, religion etc. was pained as something evil and threatening.

Eighteenth century libertines claimed to defend “freedom” while faith became “fanaticism” and “superstition.” In reality they demanded total freedom for the rich from all moral constraints. Double standards and hypocrisy was rife among these ‘liberals.’ A young female servant who fell pregnant after an (often coercive) encounter with the master’s son was classed as morally deficient and condemned to a life of shame and infamy, while the man could evade any responsibility, simply on the basis that the word of a gentleman would always be believed over the word of a ‘low born’ person.

Later, Karl Marx paved the way for emotionally needy virtue signallers to pose as “intellectuals” siding with “the masses,” against authority. The problem there was the intellectuals only cared about the social kudos they could gain by presenting themselves as defenders of the defenceless. Their self image depended on the masses remaining as ignorant, grovelling and eternally grateful for the patronage.

Some manipulated the media into pretending they were part of the “oppressed,” Jews, Roman Catholics, homosexuals or lesbians and thus entitled to sympathy when they were actually hateful, anti-middle-class Marxists who believed their delusions of moral superiority entitled them to be part of a new, academic elite, a meritocracy.

The whole theory of “progress” as it exists in liberal democracies of the developed world where a consensus has formed around the ideology dubbed Cultural Marxism Marx—society ought is that a society should move from capitalism to a collectivist utopia in which the individual interest is subsumed under the desire to serve the community. This is wishful thinking, look what happened in Sovie yett Russian under the communist tyranny of Lenin and Stalin, in communist China under they tyranny of Chairman Mao and his Red Guard, in Cuba, the Soviet satellite states of Europe and most of all in Cambodia under the murderous regime of Pol Pot.

While casting themselves as liberators of the working class and rewriting history to present a self-favoring view of their rise to power, Marxist regimes have always quickly become dictatorships prepared to kill millions of innocent people in order to quash dissent. History seems to have forgotten that in 1870 the Russian anarchist Mikhail Bakunin warned Karl Marx that a future communist government would rapidly become more oppressive than the old monatchies of Russia and central Europe. History has proved him right.

Just as globalist corporatism destroys communities and enslaved poor and middle income families through debt, cultural Marxist ‘progressivism’ serves to destroy not only nations but cultures and communities. homelands. As long as people can be deceived by buzzwords into belieing some kind of utopia can be achieved if humans surrender their individual sovereignty to collective interests, the confidence trick that both socialism and communism are based on will retains its grip over their minds.

Socialism and communism are in fact the most extreme form of elitism. ‘The Controllers’, (as Aldous Huxley called them in brave New World) or ‘the inner party’ of George Orwell’s big Brother regime in the novel 1984 live in the greatest extremes of privilege and splendour while the masses labour in squalor.

Here are some of the buzzwords that are actual political ploys used by the left in their sinister schemes to worm their way into power.

1. Equality

Perhaps the most massive totem pole of it all. Written, shouted, used as a talisman an indefinite number of times, “equality” has been put forth to justify various mass killings from eighteenth century terror to twentieth century Bolshevism, and closer to us served to unleash female hypergamy and alien millions of young straight-white-males from the societies they should belong in.

Equality exists in mathematics. A number can be equal to another because an abstract unit can be replaced with another abstract unit without change. Mathematical equality exists because abstract units are identical with each other. Outside from the realm of pure quantity, qualitative differences emerge, and thus equality ought to be defined negatively as the absence of difference both in quantity and quality.

It is easy to see that equality between individual beings—not numbers—is a fiction, an attempt to perceive individuals as abstractions or numbers, void of any quality, personality or specificity. Equalitarianism stems from a rather incomplete view of the beings it pretends to apply to, and gets quickly used as a mask for envy or the will to grab something or exert power over someone.

Although equality can enter into the definition of true justice as equanimity—see Aristotle’s Nicomachean Ethics, quote—, more than often, the word is used to foster particular interests at the expense of the wider social equilibrium, to fan the flames of division and sedition, and later, to deny vocations, human biodiversity, complementarity as it implies differences in nature and functions, not to mention ugly tradeoffs where some manipulative group plays the victim or claims rights to what doesn’t belong to them.

2. “Social” “justice”

Are you a victim? Are you victim of a particular inequality? Then you are living an injustice, and this wrong ought to be compensated. This simple framing has been widely used by anti-white, anti-male, anti-Western leftists to create a feeling of victimhood among various social categories. They used this powerful feeling to mount new social identities, inspired from Marxist classes—feminism isn’t about femininity but about women identifying as a separate, adversarial group, whose interests would be antagonistic to men’s—, and perpetual charges hung over the majority’s heads: Racist; Sexist; homophobe; Islamophobe; nationalist; And so on.

“Social justice” covers a blending of several features: an accusatory, anti-white, anti-male, anti-Western narrative, that taints and darkens past history; a feeling of victimhood and class identity for so-called “minorities” integrated into the wider narrative; the systematic, and very real, disenfranchisement and displacement of the majority that finds itself condemned to play the role of the bad guy—and hence charged—in said narrative. In this sense, “social justice” is deeply divisive, defamatory, aggressive, and amounts to a Moloch that eats families, nationhood, and most men.

Actual justice, call it social or not, is of course far from such a terrible conception. Methinks true justice should acknowledge the fact that we are the sons of the Western civilizations, its human substance and legitimate heirs, and that we have a prime right over it. We should have jobs, freedom of speech, protection over violent crowds, a right to fair judgment instead of getting screwed over by HR, “minority” impunity and pussy pass, a right to chances to thick relationships with at least some women instead of clowning our ways through hypergamy… Don’t forget we need to formalize at least some of our intuitions about what’s fair or not to replace the wicked theory of “justice” the Left shatters us with.

3. “Progress” (and the “reactionaries”)

This overrated buzzword has been straightforward long ago. Its Latin root, progressus, stems from the root verb gradior (walk, advance) and was mostly used in a military context, as in the sentence “the army is progressing into enemy territory.” Since then, it has been used analogically to qualify any advancement, even purely relative or fantasised ones.

The Left, following the pompous philosophies of Marx, Tolstoy, Lenin, Bertrand Russell and harold Laskey enshrined its own notion of progress into a general theory of history, thus making it absolute rather than relative. When various strands of modernity clash—for example, individual freedom and collective well-being, which one is “progressive”? Each can be used to fulfill a particular notion of progress. Aside perhaps from technological breakthroughs, “progress” is deeply relative. Even the most shining realizations of genius imply the sacrifice of thousands of potential choices that have been discarded during the process. The Left chose to forget this truth in order to judge everything and everyone from its own authoritarian and binary perspective.

If you do some research about such characters as, say, Ayn Rand and Lothrop Stoddard, you’ll notice they have been widely labelled “reactionary.” Yet each of them was a progressive in his own right. Rand considered industrial development and individual freedom as obvious landmarks of progress: she opposed vehemently to the environmentalist and collectivist—that is, anti-industrial, anti-economic growth, anti-conservative right as a “return of the primitive.”

<!– As for Lothrop Stoddard, he rebuffed Bolshevism and environmentalism as pre-scientific ratiocinations that willingly ignored human differences and the proper value of civilization. These “mistakes”, he said, are older than biological discoveries and stem from “degenerate” elements who would rather destroy civilization than letting it progress without them.

The only new thing about Bolshevism is its ” rationalizing ” of rebellious emotions into an exceedingly insidious and persuasive philosophy of revolt which has not merely welded all the real social rebels, but has also deluded many misguided dupes, blind to what Bolshevism implies. (Stoddard, Revolt Against Civilization, chap.8)

I also remember an old-fashioned Marxist who claimed feminism was “reactionary” because, he said, it comes from the wealthy and urbanized bourgeoisie, and hijacks the attention and care given to working classes for the benefit of actual exploiters. This guy’s progressivism has fallen out of grace, likely because it showed unable to destroy Western countries, but he is no less right according to his own logic.

Now, of course, we could say that MRAs are the real progressives as men’s rights are a progress, or that asserting our identities and associated rights are a progress, perhaps more so than SJW savagery and unrestrained hypergamy.

4. Openness or open-mindedness

We all heard about how being “open to new ideas” and possibilities, or being “open-minded” was good. In practice, what the liberals mean when they talk about openness or open-minded is “be a Leftist and believe in our notion of progress.” You have to be uncritical, hyper-sympathetic towards the last tranny or BLM activist that whines about how mistreated and misunderstood he is—and if you are “open” to wasting your money on the latest trendy fashion, it is even better.

But try being open-minded towards what the Left tags as “far right” or “extreme”, for example men’s right, race realism, skepticism on their dogmas such as anthropogenic global warming, or tradition… and it won’t be long before they shriek at you, in a typical display of rather irrational dirtiness psychology. “These ideas are impure! They are contagious!”

Open-mindedness along their lines means being gullible to media and college propaganda. You have to let the managers and social engineers fabric your consent, as Chomsky would put it. They want your mind to be open so they can fulfill it with self-hate and garbage. When it comes to better things libtards suspend open-mindedness, to the point of refusing any objective inquiry and hiding behind their biased, accusatory rhetoric.

In itself, openness or open-mindedness is a double-edged sword. It can, and should be used by those who are intelligent or morally structured enough to toy with potentially dangerous ideas. As to the others, those who are too easily tempted or misdirect by demagogues, especially women—who by their vote always favoured an anti-family, economy-devouring Big State—, the low-IQ and the unhinged, I think they should follow the lead of more qualified individuals.

5. Modern nationhood and citizenship

Since time immemorial peoples have been ethnocultural groups. Romans used the term natio to refer to a particular people, say, the Gaul, the Goths or the Basque. They also used the term civis to refer to a man as a member of his city, thus belonging to it.

Both words have been emptied of their substantial meaning. “Nation” is now mostly used to denote an abstract, bureaucratized State whom anyone can be a national if the bureaucrats hand him a stamped piece of paper. “Citizenship” refers to the pretense to identify with a particular public responsibility or to a world under globalist power: Leftists often claim to be “just citizens” or speak “in the name of the citizens of X place” when they are actually carrying cultural warfare. Remember when a bunch of hateful swindlers tried to rob Sherry Spencer, Richard Spencer’s mom, of her real estate by forcing her to sell it at a cheap price? Complacent media said they were just citizens, or that “the town” was doing it. Yeah, sure.

Citizenship today is a mean to virtue-signal when you are an urban elf. It has become empty, fictitious—it refers to a world of nowhere and more subtly to belonging to a globalist class that abandoned its actual fellow citizens or ethnic brothers long ago.

6. “Social struggles” and “achievements”

When they referred to actually good causes, such as trade unions maintaining a high standard of living for most workers and fostering a meritocratic middle-class, these words ringed well. Today, they seem to refer more to the unwarranted privileges of State officers—when theft through taxes and economic rent are presented as something “social.”

The heroic epic of “social achievements”, which conveniently forgets that there is no free lunch and that if a particular segment of population benefits much from them it must be at the expense of the others, covers a host of barely examined ill effects. When it is used to glorify the welfare State, it forgets how such a State tends to disintegrate organic social life by taking away charity or generosity, how it fosters a big parasitic and paternalist State, how it allows females to destroy their families, or how it attracts immigrants eager to get a check and imposes unfair burdens on the productive citizens—I’m thinking about, say, the middle classes who paid for Obamacare, not about cutting taxes for Monsanto.

Conclusion

From fake smiles and cute façades to seemingly innocuous buzzwords such as “you go girl”, “sex positivity” or “self-acceptance” – which sounds better than complacency – the culture conflict-mongerers managed to push their disruptions and degeneration into normality. One step at a time, from actual normalcy to an alien nation, all this believing they were cool or on the good side of history.

Shatter the illusion by explaining what stands behind and unveil the inner vacuity or potentially polymorphous use of the word. May progress not be “progress” and may the mainstream view of justice not be the anti-white, misandric “social justice.” They aren’t smarter than we are, just more manipulative. –>

There Is NothingIn The Dumbing Down Of Education That Does Not Support ‘The Agenda’

July 6, 2016

Most of this long post is exerpted from a post on Minding The Campus blog, a US blog site for dissident educators. The article is written from the perspective of an educator: It is reproduced here under ‘fair use terms’ in the public interest. The article exposes some misconceptions about the nature and purpose of modern education . The author opens by bemoaning the standard of education found in young people.

My students are know-nothings. They are exceedingly nice, pleasant, trustworthy, mostly honest, well-intentioned, and utterly decent. But their brains are largely empty, devoid of any substantial knowledge that might be the fruits of an education in an inheritance and a gift of a previous generation. They are the culmination of western civilization, a civilization that has forgotten nearly everything about itself, and as a result, has achieved near-perfect indifference to its own culture.

He’s complimentary to the children:

[T]hey rarely allow themselves to become passionate and invested in any one subject); they build superb resumes. They are respectful and cordial to their elders, though easy-going if crude with their peers. They respect diversity (without having the slightest clue what diversity is) and they are experts in the arts of non-judgmentalism (at least publically). They are the cream of their generation, the masters of the universe, a generation-in-waiting to run America and the world.

But:

Some students, due most often to serendipitous class choices or a quirky old-fashioned teacher, might know a few of these answers. But most students have not been educated to know them. At best, they possess accidental knowledge, but otherwise are masters of systematic ignorance. It is not their “fault” for pervasive ignorance of western and American history, civilization, politics, art and literature. Science fares somewhat better but it is learned by rote and theories are passed off as fact; mathematics is all important though most of us will never use any branch but arithmetic after leaving school.

Modern pupils however have learned exactly what we have asked of them – to be like mayflies, alive by happenstance in a fleeting present.

This can’t be stressed enough. In my last decade in work the constant mantra was that new is good, therefore right and I was nothing to do with education. But old mavericks like me, men and women who had benefitted from that education system known as “The Renaissance Education” which taught us to question, were being phased out. When I left the last corporate job I had in the early 1980s to become a freelance Information Technology consultant, the management services director (another Renaisance Education type) stormed into Human Resources demanding to know why I was being allowed to take a redundancy package and go when a number of notorious plodders would be staying.

“This company needs people who can implement corporate policy, not people who question it,” he was told.

Mordern teachers are, on the whole, open to new developments coming out of the curriculum branch, but when something bad comes along (such as Common Core in the USA, and britain’s National Curriculum, few are prepared to stand up say, ‘Hang on, since when did education take a one-size-fits-all approach, what about diversity?’

New! New! New! That’s the mantra.

And of course new policy is backed up by new teaching materials, innit, which comprise texts and exam books, extension work – anything to get the school to buy three texts per child, not one. Let alone the teacher texts. And inside those books are a complete political system based on the assumption that all pupils conform to a standard model and thus have identical educational needs. So  who are  the drivers of the new ideas? They are bureaucrats working for central government, people who have rarely if ever taught a class or, since they left school themselves, interacted with people from different educational classes or social backgrounds. but they will all have obtained a PhD ‘education’ which qualifies them as much greater experts that teacher who have spent years working at ‘the chalk face.’

Everyone below the ‘educationalists’, through the teachers, classroom assistants and down to the pupils, is expected to fall into line behind the currently fashionable theory of education.. Teachers are afraid to appear reactionary, racist, sexist, homophobic and even the moist trivial dissent from the official line will see one branded thus. Those who doubt the message may gently and quietly mock but teachers have mortgages and bills and need to eat and they know it’s more than their job’s worth to voice criticisms or point out that the system is failing.

Of late, people have started to wake up to the fact that the BBC is in effect the broadcating arm of The Ministry Of Truth and that the leftie luvvies and ‘speshul snowflakes’ it employs seem to be so brainwashed they cannot distinguish between facts and their personal beliefs and prejudices. The damage was done  a generation ago it was done, to Generation X and Generation Y who were taught never to question authority and to accept the assumptions of the politically correct left as facts.

And voila, the culture of the 40s, 50s and 60s is not only gone, it’s mocked. A lady who was  in a blog group I was in, in 2006/7, wrote to me that I sounded as if I were from the 60s. That was meant to be bad, that was meant to cut. It didn’t, because all I had been doing was questioning the assumptions of the left.

The immense power of the people controlling the media is incalculable. And yet those people are always hidden and are always at work, advancing the agenda. Any topic, say demonstrating  a relative pronoun, can be loaded with embedded values, (e.g. (1) the boy who bullied immigrant children (2) we gave to a charity that drills wells in Africa) Every single excerpt, every single example, reinforcing the message.

Back to Minding the Campus which gets down to the nitty gritty here (BTW nitty gritty is a racist phrase because it refers to the gravel that was used as ballast on slave ships according to American educators. In fact the term originally referred to the ballast on all ships, but hey, never miss an opportunity to reinforce the message):

Our students’ ignorance is not a failing of the educational system – it is its crowning achievement. Efforts by several generations of philosophers and reformers and public policy experts — whom our students (and most of us) know nothing about — have combined to produce a generation of know-nothings. The pervasive ignorance of our students is not a mere accident or unfortunate but correctible outcome, if only we hire better teachers or tweak the reading lists in high school. It is the consequence of a civilizational commitment to civilizational suicide. The end of history for our students signals the End of History for the West.

This is not an overreaction at the end – it really is the end of history. Being a sad case, I’ve always liked history books and when I was staying at a mate’s place, his son’s old history book was in the bookshelf. Took it out and it had the leather bound, hardback look which spelt gravitas.

Good, the old history, I thought. Several pages in and I was already muttering, then expostulating – the guff included as given truths were off the planet. Usually it’s the bias of selection and omission but this one included total porkies. I looked at the date – mid-90s.

Oh my goodness – who was going to correct these things? Well obviously people such as I. And just how was I going to do this? Track down the authors when I had a dozen things to do that day? And the son was now grown, out in the world. You see the impossibility of the task. And who’s to say he’d even listen or see it as relevant to his own world these days?

Back to the teachers and how far can they be blamed? Those in charge are Gen X, the new teachers are Millennials – the process has already been done on them.

Some saw it and tried to fight back by producing alternative materials:

E.D. Hirsch even worked up a self-help curriculum, a do-it yourself guide on how to become culturally literate, imbued with the can-do American spirit that cultural defenestration could be reversed by a good reading list in the appendix. Broadly missing is sufficient appreciation that this ignorance is the intended consequence of our educational system, a sign of its robust health and success.

Heads would look at it – hmmmm, interesting angles but reactionary, racist, every other -ist. And that was that. Those values were never going to be reintroduced by us. The only real chance is that some bright kids start to see something’s wrong, something’s missing and start exploring.

It’s not unlike The Who’s song 905:

In suspended animation
My childhood passed me by
If I speak without emotion
Then you know the reason why
Knowledge of the universe
Was fed into my mind
As my adolescent body
Left its puberty behind

And everything I know is what I need to know
And everything I do’s been done before
Every sentence in my head
Someone else has said
At each end of my life is an open door/a>

I have a feeling deep inside
That somethin’ is missing
It’s a feeling in my soul
And I can’t help wishing
That one day I’ll discover
That we’re living a lie
And I’ll tell the whole world
The reason why.

Chilling, yes? The point made over and over is that none of this is random, the rising and falling wave of civilization – this is quite deliberately introduced and it has succeeded. These are very patient people.

The earliest confirmed example was long ago, called the Lincoln School in America, Rockefeller funded and embracing what’s known as Wundtian philosophy. I’ll leave you to explore Wilhelm Wundt who might have died an obscure experimenter, were it not for his inclusion in the genesis of the new education.

There are just too many articles on education but one good one, on research methods, was reprinted here on my former blog:

http://archive-random-nour-obscur.blogspot.co.uk/2006/10/appendix-h.html

The theme of deliberate intervention in order to suppress the very natural human instinct to question and rebel was, when I started blogging in 2005, seen as tinfoil hat conspirascy stuff, despite senior teachers and lecturers writing many essays and books critical of the way education was heading. Today, it’s seen as part of the fightback against dumbing-down which most of us (everyone who has used Facebook or Twitter for example) have observed in all its ingloriousness.

Lessons In Liberty For Liberal and Socialist Nazis

August 17, 2015

I get sickened, as I’m sure many of you do, by the self righteous, bigoted posturings of those who identify themselves as ‘liberal’, ‘left wing’, progressive or socialism and yet see nothing contradictory in their calling for the abolition of free speech, the return of censorship and the proscription of certain words or opinions.

Perhaps these liberal fascists find John Stuart Mill’s ideas are more dangerous and subversive that even his contemporaries thought.

Was Mill really so far ahead of his time we have not yet caught up, or do our ‘progressive liberal’ friends want to progress all they way back to the medieval liberalism of The Inquisition, when the elite were at liberty to do WTF they liked because the masses were considered subhuman?

If it is the latter, Mill’s treatise On Liberty (1859) contains some truly revolutionary statements such as: ‘If all mankind minus one, were of one opinion, and only one person were of the contrary opinion, mankind would be no more justified in silencing that one person, than he, if he had the power, would be justified in silencing mankind.’

Everyone allowed their own opinion? He was probably drunk when he wrote that bit.

TTIP Corporate Stitch Up And Revival Of The Loony Left Poses Existential Threat To Nation States

The Worst Tyranny?

August 8, 2015

The Neo Nazis who describe themselves as ‘the progressive left’ or ‘progressive liberals’ seem to think they have a divine right to hurl abuse at anyone who disagrees with them.

“Divine right, Ian, but aren’t they all militant atheists?” You might well ask.

They might reject the God of Abraham (but then so do I and I despise the bastards) but they have turned socialism into a religion, with dogma, creed, a sort of catechism (immigration is good, homosexuality must be praised, science is infallible etc.) And like the tyrants of the medieval Catholic Church, their overweening self – righteousness leads them to assume follower of their faith and its various cults e.g. The Fabian Society) are qualified to instruct the rest of us on how we should organise our lives and what thoughts and attitudes are acceptbable.

Here’s a though on that from one of the twentieth century’s leading libertarian thinkers:

“Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron’s cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience.”
C.S. Lewis

You’d be surprised (or maybe if you are reading this blog you wouldn’t) how many of the leading left wing intellectuals who are or were members of the Fabian Society have gone of record as saying democracy was obstructive to the socialist agenda and only a benign dictatorship controlled by the financial, commercial and academic elite can solve the world’s problems.

R.I.P. The british Left

May 20, 2015

I keep reading that the Labour leadership campaign is in chaos, seems a bit harsh seeing as they have hrdly started yet, and also that the Liberasl Democrats are falling apart at the seams. This claim has a tad more substance as the front runner for the leadership, Tim Farron has hinted that he wants to drop the Dems and divert to being the liberals with a political philosophy based on classical liberalism.

What we’re really seeing is a fragmentation of the Left.

As Labour under and since Blair, sought to occupy the ground that belongs to the centre right, it triggered a lunge towards authoritarianism and statism by the remaining dyed-in-the-wool Marxists, hence the growth of Greens, extreme socialist groupings and the SNP.

But what most surprised Labour, and the pollsters too, was the volume of traditional working-class votes which went to UKIP in far greater numbers than the kippers had ever gathered from any wavering Tories, presenting a greater threat long term.

As I have been saying in this blog for a long time, politically correct thinking, gay rights and an obsesion with imigration are not vote winners in the streets of Manchester, Leeds, Liverpool, Newcastle, Birmingham, Nottingham and Sheffield. Anyone familiar with those cities does not need me to explain why, anyone who does need me to explain why is never going to understand anyway.

The challenge now for Labour is to define a whole new position, one which can recover those lost working class souls whilst also making the right noises about business, immigration, Europe etc. It looks like an impossible challenge, certainly for any of the current batch of leadership candidate nonentities.

Labour now only exists in the most deprived and under – employed parts of a few major conurbations, it is a party of the depressed inner-cities, no longer a whole nation party, nor even a working-class party. The exit-door beckons – unless Osborne throws them a life-line with his daft ‘city-devolution’ plan – that could guarantee devolved Labour enclaves for a few more decades yet.

As for the Liberals, whether Democrat or not, I suspect their day has gone: people have more feasible choices now for their protest votes and trying to co-exist in the middle-left-ground while being trampled on by both the Tories and Labour is not a healthy place to be.

From the start of the twentieth century to the 1970s the left served us well, then the Labour Party was hijacked by the elitists of the Fabian Society and became the party of lawyers, luvvies and academics while the Lib Dems for a while was an uneasy alliance of libertarians, social democrats and the raffia mafia.

RIP then the british left, what will replace it we cannot tell.

Red Cross To Be Renamed Red Swastika?

November 16, 2014
Another once respected charity abandones its mission to focus on promoting bosses left wing political agenda.

The Red Cross is getting some well deserved stick after sacking 71 year old Brian Barkley, a volunteer for over twenty years. His crime was to have an opinion that differed from the politically correct dogma espoused by the self righteous, self interested left wing troughers who line their pockets via generous expenses and salaries for running the charity. .

Mr. Barkley, was seen by the Politically Correct Thought Police while protesting against gay marriage outside Wakefield Catheral. He was not involved in Red Cross activities nor was he in any way identifying himself as a member of The Red Cross.

A motion has been tabled in the House of Commons expressing “deep concern” at Barkley’s treatment and urging the charity to reinstate him.

Coalition for Marriage (C4M), which led the campaign against redefining marriage in the United Kingdom, says that it has received nearly 50,000 messages in support of Mr. Barkley and that many people are considering boycotting the charity. (I’d like to join the boycott but I have boycotted The Red Cross for years, ever since I found out how much of the money we donate directly or via out taxes is taken up by the generous salaries and bonuses the scumsuckers management pay themselves.)

Newspaper reports state that Mr Barkley had been photographed mounting a one-man protest outside Wakefield Cathedral, holding a placard reading “No same-sex marriage”, in May this year after the gay weddings took place in the UK. This is still allegedly a free country and he is antitled to his opinion. as in so many other recent cases, nobody seems to have told the authoritarian left what free speech actually means.

The Red Cross summoned him before a disciplinary panel where he was told his actions went against the group’s values.

A spokesman for C4M said that although Mr Barkley has not called for a boycott of the Red Cross, he does remain “deeply upset” at his treatment after working with it for many years.

However, the charity said in a statement that it did not dismiss Mr Barkley “specifically for his views on same sex marriage”, although it did fear his stance would have a “negative impact on the way its services are delivered to a particular community.”

Colin Hart of C4M is not impressed, though. He said: “This is a shocking case – Bryan was a senior volunteer, undertaking very complicated and technical work for the Red Cross.

“For nearly two decades he helped to reunite people with lost family members. Yet after voicing his opposition to the Government’s undemocratic plans to rip up the traditional definition of marriage he was fired.

“He broke no law and his only crime seems to have been that he was one of the millions of ordinary people who opposed this change. There has never been any suggestion that Mr Barkley acted inappropriately while at the charity, or even pushed his views while volunteering.

“Indeed just 24 hours before he was notified of a disciplinary meeting, he attended a garden party at Buckingham Palace with other volunteers, employees and supporters of this organisation.”

The Red Brigade Cross has responded, by whining self righteously and hypocritically that Mr Bickley’s supporters are distracting the organisation from its work dealing with international disasters.

A spokeswoman said: “The British Red Cross is working internationally tackling enormous issues like the Ebola crisis, Syria and the food crisis in South Sudan.

“Orchestrated actions like this inevitably divert us from our humanitarian mission.”

In response to the final two statements above Boggart Blog asks and how do the Red Cross hypocrites feel about their ‘humanitarian mission’ helping people in South Sudan, Syria or the nations affected by the ebola crisis who believe homosexuals should be stoned to death. Because that, I have read, is the majority view in those societies.

The Great British rake-off… what really happens to the billions YOU donate to charity

The figures are astonishing. There are more than 195,289 registered charities in the UK that raise and spend close to £80 billion a year. Together, they employ more than a million staff – more than our car, aerospace and chemical sectors – and make 13 billion ‘asks’ for money every year, the equivalent of 200 for each of us in the UK.

But many charities have become hungry monsters, needing ever more of our money to feed their own ambitions. And while registered charities claim that almost 90p in every pound donated is spent on ‘charitable activities’, many spend at least half their income on management, strategy development, campaigning and fundraising – not what most of us would consider ‘good causes [Continue reading]

Lefties get clobbered again? Hysterical

November 8, 2014
Guardian columnist Jessica Valenti – smiling or preparing to bit the balls off a conservative male?

A blogger who is probably the most stupid leftie in this community once asked me did I know what ‘hysterical’ meant. Well he might like to brag about his educational qualifications but I’m the one who went to a really posh school and so is well acquainted with Latin and Greek. So I am aware that in the era of Hippocrates, the founder of scientific healing in the fifth century BC it refers to a disturbance of the womb. That was then, this is now however and colloquially in the twenty first century, hysteria means an extreme emotional disturbance.

For the sake of stupid lefties who assume that because I do not agree with their crackpot, collectivist political theories I cannot possibly have had a decent education, in this blog post the words hysteria and hysterical are used in the modern colloquial sense.

Left-Wing Hysteria Reaches New Heights as Jessica Valenti Claims ALL Republican Women Are ‘Anti-Woman’

The triumph of Republican Party candidates in the US Midterm Elections last tuesday has really caused the lefties to get their knickers in a twist. Our home – grown crop of Marxist idiots are even more hysterical about it than they were about UKIP pummeling the LabLibConsensus in the European Parliament elections.

Lefties of course can never quite believe that any intelligent people could disagree with their political pronouncements which really are based on economic and social policies that first failed in the 1920s and have failed in every decade since.

Thus left wing blogger Sunny Hundal (who is funnier that Frankie Boyle and all the fat, ageing, bald ex-comedians and token women on Mock The Week put together (only Sunny does not see the comedy in his babblings) took the opportunity to show what an utter arse he really is on the Daily Politics. He tried to belittle The Republican victory the by claiming the they only won because they got more supporters to the ballot box. He’s right of course, what’s funny is for all his claimed political expertise and intellectual superiority he does not understand that’s how elections work in a democracy.

The Guardian’s wankerati chipped in to the general hilarity. Jessica Valenti’s column went off on one over Republican women who are, in her words, “anti-woman”.

“Under normal circumstances, a triumphant woman standing behind a podium giving a political victory speech would thrill me to the core. After all, what feminist worth her salt doesn’t like to see a woman win an election?” Valenti stormed.

To Obamessiah worshipping American women and the pussy whippes sissies who agre with them out of fear, absolutely everything is about the right of women to abort their foetuses (modern colloquial usage again) any time up to 974 weeks into the pregnancy (think about it).

“When the winner is a Republican being a woman does not count – because your gender doesn’t make you pro-woman, your actions do. And the Republican party is not just anti-“women’s issues”; it is anti-woman,” Valenti raved.

She continued; “What I’d really like is for every elected woman Republican to explain to a room full of non-rich, non-white women why restricting abortion rights is a good use of our government’s time and energy, to tell them why their birth control isn’t a real medical need, and to discuss how women don’t really need equal pay or a fair wage because they need “real” choices.”

Honsetly, to hear or read these stupid bitches, one would think late term abortion is the only form of birth control available in the USA.

Such is her loathing for Republican women, who she clearly sees as quislings of the worst order, Valenti proffers the worst insult she can think of. To Valenti, female Republicans are worse than men. Well Democrat men are all girlie-men so I suppose she sort of have a point.

“In a way, female Republicans almost bother me more than their male counterparts. I can almost understand why a bunch of rich, religiously conservative white men wouldn’t care about the reality of women’s day-to-day lives – they’ve never had to. But throwing other women under the bus? For what? Lower taxes? Three minutes on Fox News in the 3pm hour? It makes me wonder what is wrong with you.”

I love the glib assumption that all the millions of black, hispanic and white working class males who voted Repubican because they believed there might be a better chance of getting a decent job, lower taxes so they can hope to pay down their debts, or they did not want their sons and daughters to die fighting The Rent Boy President’s illegal, ego driven wars, were on their way to the voting station, somehow transformed into right, religiously conservative white men.

But as I have said many times, clear, logical thinking is not a prominent item of lefties list of desirable personal qualities. In fact it come lower that tolerance, and a willingness to consider opposing views.

Marilyn Manson Does Not Know What Racism Is. Do You?

November 7, 2014
Its a sad comment on our society when we need a professional weirdo like Marilyn Manson to stand up to the the neo-fascist bullying of the ‘liberal’ wankerati on our behalf. But any defender of free speech and freedom of thought against the left wing hate merchants is to be welcomed.

Marilyn Manson

This blog had often commented on the debating technique the left stole from Hitler’s National Socialists, that of shutting down debate by screaming “racist” and “bigot” at anyone who challenges certain dogmas in their catechism (yes dogma and catechism are religious terms, has it not struck you that the ‘progressive left’ are like fanatical religious zealots?)

The Marilyn Manson incident, covering an exchange in an online intereview for The Bret Easton Ellis podcast, was reported in The Independent. As the interview went on two hours, I’ll just give the transcript of the relevant section rather than posing the video. At this stage Manson and the interviewer are discussing racism. Manson has been accused of racism by the screeching mob many times.(Spelling errors in the transcript have not been corrected.)

Ellis: “Getting back to the idea of racism and how it’s so widely applied to people now, it’s just gotten crazy.”

Manson: “I don’t even really know what to do with it. You know, it’s the old tradition of like, ‘Yeah man I got a lot of black friends, I got a lot of Jewish friends’ or whatever, it’s like, the people that I know that are my friends that are black are completely comfortable with my sense of humour because I think that racism is more about if something is like – whatever, it’s a stupid word, it’s a made up word, it’s an ism. Jizm is an ism. (Um – no it’s not but we knoiw what you mean – Boggart Blog)

“But it’s like if you’re not doing something hateful to somebody, you’re not trying to hurt somebody, then it’s not really a problem. You can make comments about culture, don’t avoid the elephant in the room. Stand-up comedians can say whatever they want and somehow that’s a free reign but if you say it as a rockstar, say it as a writer, sometimes people misinterpret it – people interpret everything differently.

“But it’s a silly way of someone trying to – the other lesson I learned in journalism class was if you criticise something it makes you sound like a better writer than if you compliment it.”

Ellis: “Of course that’s true and that’s why I think there’s so many haters on the internet, but racism, you know, let’s just clarify, does exist, in a big way.”

from The Independent:

It is true to say racism exists but accusing people who advocate immigration controls of being motivated by racism is just an attempt to deny them the right to hold their opinions, just as left wing haters deliberate misinterpretation of UKIP’s policy of limiting immigration and enforcing the border controls that exist in law as an intention to ban all immigration is an attempt to shut down discussion. Sadly the left have to resort to this kind of thing because they have no coherent argument to support their position.

The left do exactly the same when intelligent and justified criticisms of the ‘gay rights’ lobby are shouted down with screams of homophobia.

It is satisfyingly ironic that in depth analysis of polling data shows it is the left’s hysterical hatred of British culture, British values and traditions, anything British and the British working and lower middle classes that is driving UKIP’s surge in opinion polls.

Has ‘Hampstead Socialism’ Lost Labour The Working Class Vote

November 6, 2014

When a traditionally left wing publication like The New Statesman turns on The Labour leader you can be sure the party is in bigger trouble than anyone involved with it is ever going to admit.

This blog has been saying for years Labour is now more elitist than The Conservatives, the party of lawyers, academics and media luvvies, of crony corporatism and progressive ideologies taking precedence over pragmatic realism.

Labour has not only lost touch with the working class that always made up its core vote, the intellectuals now despise the working classes whose concernes are casually dismissed as racist and bigoted. Instead they suck up to the gay and lesbian communities, extremists religious minorities (so long as they are not Christian extremists) and corporate businessmen who favour replacing democracy with a totalitarian world government and the kind of strangers to reality who think equal rights for paedophiles could ever be a vote winner.

Miliband: ‘old-style socialist who can’t connect with public’

from The Mole:
Stinging attack from New Statesman as Times claims Labour backbenchers could still ask him to step aside

In a devastating critique of Ed Miliband, the editor of the left-wing weekly, the New Statesman, has accused him of being an “old-style Hampstead socialist who has failed to find an authentic voice to connect with the electorate”.

“He doesn’t really understand the lower middle class or material aspiration,” writes Jason Cowley in this week’s editorial. “He doesn’t understand Essex Man or Woman. Politics for him must seem at times like an extended PPE seminar: elevated talk about political economy and the good society…”

Nor does Miliband have a “back story” that might capture the public imagination, says Cowley. “[He] does not have a compelling personal story to tell the electorate, as Thatcher did about her remarkable journey from the grocer’s shop in Grantham and the values that sustained her along the way, or Alan Johnson does about his rise from an impoverished childhood in west London.

“ ‘I went to Oxford to study PPE, worked for Gordon Brown, became a cabinet minister and then leader of the party’ does not quite do it. None of this would matter were Miliband in manner and approach not so much the product of this narrow background…”

The attack is particularly upsetting to Team Miliband because the Statesman went out of its way to endorse Ed for the leadership in 2010.

Read more at The Week:

When the leading publication among left wing intellectuals is doing a hatchet job like that on the party leader, himself a Fabian Society intellectual, only six months before a general election, it does give the impression they don’t want to win.

Poor Ed, I like him as a person no matter how misguided or daft his politics may be, but he really was handed an impossible task. Nobody could hope to succeed in selling the politically correct idiocies of paedophile loving Harriet Harman and her clique to the down to earth voters of Labour’s industrial strongholds.
