How Trump Has Rewritten The Rules – Tim Montgomerie

January 22, 2017

Tim Montgomerie is a British journalis and blogger best known outside the news industry and politics for founding the Conservative Home blog. In spire of what some people may choose to believe, this blog is not run by conservatives (we’re not Labour supporters either) but we want to share an excellent article from Mr. Montgomerie which puts the Trump phenemenon in perspective vis – a – vis globalism and the rampant authoritarianism of the ‘left’.

How Trump has rewritten the political rules

By

Tim Montgomerie spent much of the past year in the United States covering one of the most extraordinary presidential elections in history. This is the second in a three-part series, summarising what he learned. (The first part can be found here.)

The weaknesses of the mainstream American media have reached a critical, democracy-endangering stage

The mainstream media plays a vital role in democracy. It educates the public about what politicians are doing (and not doing). And almost as importantly, it educates politicians about what is happening in the country they seek to serve, and what they might be missing.

But for year after year, in this age of hugely disruptive internet-based competition, the mainstream media – especially what online insurgents call the “dead tree press” – has been in a fight for its economic survival. Newsrooms have shrunk as reporters have been fired to cut costs, and it’s often the higher-paid and more experienced reporters who get dropped first. Some of the best journalism has become hidden behind paywalls.

At the same time, the tendency of media organisations based in New York and Los Angeles – both bastions of liberal leftism – to employ like-minded people has accelerated. Hard data about the ideological composition of newsrooms is difficult to come by, but research during the recent campaign by the Center for Public Integrity found that 96 per cent of political donations by journalists were to the Clinton campaign.

The executive editor of The New York Times recently admitted that “we don’t get religion”. Not getting religion in one of the most religious nations on earth is not a minor journalistic failing. And what about not getting people with guns, or people who work in coalmining, or veterans who’ve served in the military?

Some newsrooms have been so busy recruiting more women and ethnic minorities – very correctly – that they have forgotten other forms of diversity which ensure that groupthink doesn’t compromise editorial decisions. The result is the equivalent, if we were to put it into a British context, of an editorial conference full of Remainers: they can try their best to reflect the views of the rest of the nation, but it won’t be easy or complete. On top of which, such journalists often choose to think the worst of people they don’t naturally agree with, or even mix with. This is one reason why wanting your country to govern itself – the dominant motivation of Leavers in the UK – is regularly and disproportionately portrayed as racist or xenophobic.

These two key trends, of tough revenue models and ideologically monochrome newsrooms, have reached a point in America (and the London-based media may not be so very far behind) where the press can’t afford to do its work of reporting the nation – a nation which it doesn’t even know half of as well as it should.

An environment is created where large numbers of voters stop trusting the media and choose instead to read fringe alternatives: the Age of Breitbart.

‘Liar, liar, liar’ turns into ‘Yawn, yawn, yawn’

One of my favourite moments during the confirmation hearings now taking place on Capitol Hill (and I know I shouldn’t laugh) was when Rex Tillerson, the ex-Exxon chief, friend of Vlad-the-Bad and nominee for Secretary of State, was asked by one Senator about lobbying against sanctions on Russia by the company he ran until very recently.

Tillerson, wearing a face as straight as a pipeline, replied by saying that he had not been aware of any lobbying. Er, said Senator Corker, the foreign affairs committee chairman, I remember you lobbying me at the time. Read more >>>

France’s President Hollande Says ‘Non’ To Obama’s Demand for Corporate Global Oligarchy

November 29, 2014

The embattled French President has become the first national leader to state categorically his country will not sign the Trans Atlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) being pushed by the USA’s Obama Administration.

Before we start applauding this sudden attack of testicular fortitude and comparing Hollande’s defence of French sovereignty against the Muslim (allegedly)conqueror to the stand of brave Roland and his twelve companions at Roncesvalles (I’d bet that will send a few readers rushing off to Google or Wikipedia, we should remember the current socialist government is already the most unpopular France has ever had and the President knows that to give away French sovereignty to US Corporate businesses would be political suicide.

Lefties get clobbered again? Hysterical

November 8, 2014
Guardian columnist Jessica Valenti – smiling or preparing to bit the balls off a conservative male?

A blogger who is probably the most stupid leftie in this community once asked me did I know what ‘hysterical’ meant. Well he might like to brag about his educational qualifications but I’m the one who went to a really posh school and so is well acquainted with Latin and Greek. So I am aware that in the era of Hippocrates, the founder of scientific healing in the fifth century BC it refers to a disturbance of the womb. That was then, this is now however and colloquially in the twenty first century, hysteria means an extreme emotional disturbance.

For the sake of stupid lefties who assume that because I do not agree with their crackpot, collectivist political theories I cannot possibly have had a decent education, in this blog post the words hysteria and hysterical are used in the modern colloquial sense.

Left-Wing Hysteria Reaches New Heights as Jessica Valenti Claims ALL Republican Women Are ‘Anti-Woman’

The triumph of Republican Party candidates in the US Midterm Elections last tuesday has really caused the lefties to get their knickers in a twist. Our home – grown crop of Marxist idiots are even more hysterical about it than they were about UKIP pummeling the LabLibConsensus in the European Parliament elections.

Lefties of course can never quite believe that any intelligent people could disagree with their political pronouncements which really are based on economic and social policies that first failed in the 1920s and have failed in every decade since.

Thus left wing blogger Sunny Hundal (who is funnier that Frankie Boyle and all the fat, ageing, bald ex-comedians and token women on Mock The Week put together (only Sunny does not see the comedy in his babblings) took the opportunity to show what an utter arse he really is on the Daily Politics. He tried to belittle The Republican victory the by claiming the they only won because they got more supporters to the ballot box. He’s right of course, what’s funny is for all his claimed political expertise and intellectual superiority he does not understand that’s how elections work in a democracy.

The Guardian’s wankerati chipped in to the general hilarity. Jessica Valenti’s column went off on one over Republican women who are, in her words, “anti-woman”.

“Under normal circumstances, a triumphant woman standing behind a podium giving a political victory speech would thrill me to the core. After all, what feminist worth her salt doesn’t like to see a woman win an election?” Valenti stormed.

To Obamessiah worshipping American women and the pussy whippes sissies who agre with them out of fear, absolutely everything is about the right of women to abort their foetuses (modern colloquial usage again) any time up to 974 weeks into the pregnancy (think about it).

“When the winner is a Republican being a woman does not count – because your gender doesn’t make you pro-woman, your actions do. And the Republican party is not just anti-“women’s issues”; it is anti-woman,” Valenti raved.

She continued; “What I’d really like is for every elected woman Republican to explain to a room full of non-rich, non-white women why restricting abortion rights is a good use of our government’s time and energy, to tell them why their birth control isn’t a real medical need, and to discuss how women don’t really need equal pay or a fair wage because they need “real” choices.”

Honsetly, to hear or read these stupid bitches, one would think late term abortion is the only form of birth control available in the USA.

Such is her loathing for Republican women, who she clearly sees as quislings of the worst order, Valenti proffers the worst insult she can think of. To Valenti, female Republicans are worse than men. Well Democrat men are all girlie-men so I suppose she sort of have a point.

“In a way, female Republicans almost bother me more than their male counterparts. I can almost understand why a bunch of rich, religiously conservative white men wouldn’t care about the reality of women’s day-to-day lives – they’ve never had to. But throwing other women under the bus? For what? Lower taxes? Three minutes on Fox News in the 3pm hour? It makes me wonder what is wrong with you.”

I love the glib assumption that all the millions of black, hispanic and white working class males who voted Repubican because they believed there might be a better chance of getting a decent job, lower taxes so they can hope to pay down their debts, or they did not want their sons and daughters to die fighting The Rent Boy President’s illegal, ego driven wars, were on their way to the voting station, somehow transformed into right, religiously conservative white men.

But as I have said many times, clear, logical thinking is not a prominent item of lefties list of desirable personal qualities. In fact it come lower that tolerance, and a willingness to consider opposing views.

The Obama Administration Just Accelerated The Demise Of The USA As Dominant Econimic Power

July 5, 2014

When we reported late last year that The Obama Administration in the USA was playing with fire by imposing fines on British (and German) banks because they handled transactions with Iran and other nations against which the USA has imposed sanctions, we did not expect an arrogant egomaniac like Barack Hussein Obama to take our warning on board. It might have been wise if Obama had listened to some of the international financiers and diplomats who were trying to remind the ego – in Chief he is president of the USA, not the entire world, but hey Obama knows that the colour of a man’s skin is the only measure of intelligence so I guess his critics just weren’t black enough for him to believe they knew what they were talking about.

The backlash began slowly enough, France, Britain, Germany and other European nations, along with governments in Africa, Asia and South America began making trade deals with Russia and China to conduct business in the currency of the vendor nation and undermine the status of the US$ as the global reserve currency.

It would be totally out of character for Obama to react to what is actually happening, the man is a solipsist and seems to believe he can bring about a situation by wishing it so. Thus the US compunded its error of believing the world must do its president’s bidding by imposing a multi-billion US dollar fine on France’s biggest bank, BNP, because the french government proceeded with delivery of a warship to Russia after the USA had declared military equipment trades with The Kremlin illegal after Putin made the Americans look like idiots over Ukraine. The French government took exception to this (well the ship was already built and warships don’t come cheap). In an interview given to French magazine ‘Investir’, the governor of the French National Bank Christian Noyer and member of the ECB’s governing board, made this rather gobsmacking response to a question:

Q. Doesn’t the role of the dollar as an international currency create systemic risk?
Noyer: Beyond [the BNP] case, increased legal risks from the application of U.S. rules to all dollar transactions around the world will encourage a diversification from the dollar. The fining ofBNP Paribas was the occasion for many observers to remember that there have been a number of sanctions (against non US banks) and that there would certainly be others in the future.

A movement to diversify the currencies used in international trade is inevitable. Trade between Europe and China does not need to use the dollar and may be read and fully paid in euros or renminbi. Moves towards towards a multi – currency trading system is the natural monetary policy, since there are several major economic and monetary powerful ensembles. China has decided to develop the renminbi as a settlement currency. The Bank of France was behind the popular ECB-PBOC swap and we have just concluded a memorandum on the creation of a system of offshore renminbi clearing in Paris.

We have very strong cooperation with the PBOC in this field. But these changes take time. We must not forget that it took decades after the United States became the world’s largest economy for the dollar to replace the British pound as the first international currency. But the phenomenon of U.S. commercial law expanding to all USD-denominated transactions around the world can have an accelerating effect.

In other words, the head of the French central bank, and ECB member, Christian Noyer, just issued a direct threat to the world’s reserve currency, the US Dollar, and the Obama administration.

In a nutshell, by attempting bring France to heel after the French honoured contractual obligations taken on long before there was any threat of sanctions against Russia by completing the delivery of a Mistral amphibious warship, the US decided it had the right to punish France by imposing a large fine on BNP, its leading bank. Really the fine represented blackmail by the Americans ( Putin revealed the BNP penalty was a used as a carrot to pressurize France into scrapping the Mistral transaction at a very late stage: had Hollande scrapped the deal, the French were promised BNP would face a far lower fine, if any). The blackmail attempt backfired catastrophically for America when as a result, the head of the French central bank spells it out that not only is the Dollar’s reserve currency status not immutable, but the international community will be even more eager to avoid USD-transactions in order to escape the tentacles of America’s global trade police.

The biggest irony is that in “punishing” France for dealing with Russia, the key player in the Eurasian alliance of Russia, China and Iran, the US merely gave France (and all of Europe) an enormous push towards Eurasia, toward a multi lateral global trading environment, (sorry fanatic believers in a one world, totalitarian collectivist government, but it’s looking less likely to happen every day).

Like I keep saying, it’s impossible to do political satire these days. Nobody could ever make up anything as crazy as the truth.

Yeah, That’ll Put The Wind Up Putin

March 25, 2014

Yesterday mainstream media reported Russia is engaged in a military build up along the Ukrainian border while Moldova’s breakaway province of Transnistria, makes noises about wishing to join The Russian Federation. We think David Cameron should be talking to Transnistria about the advantages of their joining the British Empire, check our our post on Transnistria from yesterday’s Noggart Blog and you will understand why.

Into the fray steps Barack Hussein Obama who is drawing red lines on the map again. The last one he drew went from Kuala Lumpur to Diego Garcia.

To counter that Russia’s show of military muscle, Obama and the US – of sector-wide sanctions on the Russian economy. According to administration officials, financial services, energy, metals and mining, defence and engineering are all in the crosshairs.

Once again Obama is all huff and puff and no substance, promising yesterday that “if Russia escalates the situation”, by which we assume he means they invade and annex the Russian – speaking east of Ukraine, then the US and the EU will impose “a greater cost”.

Based on Obama’s track record for wimping out when people challenged his authority as President Of The Entire Universe And Everything Else besides, we should be under no illusions as to what the US President might mean by full-on sanctioning of the Russia economy.

So as Russia lines up the tanks, planes, helicopter gunships, EMP weapons possibly and thousands of well equipped troops, in response Obama has threatened to cancel the bus passes of retired Russian oligarchs living in Florida.

Yeah, that’ll put the wind up Putin.

Save The African Clitoris

March 23, 2014

We at Boggart Blog are proud to have become part of an international campaign to save one of the most endangered species on earth, the African Clitoris.

These charming little creatures which live inside ladies naughty bits, have it seems been hunted to extinction by African males who believed for many generations women had no business enjoying themselves.

Colonialisation brought some enlightenment but unfortunately that led to the African clitoris becoming a valuable trophy among the elite. The hunters redoubled their efforts, and when the creatures became scarce even left the shores of Africa to pursue the bounty to the land former colonial powers where African women, desperate to protect their Clitorii had fled.

Soon the African clitoris was being hunted in the streets of London, the savannas of Birmingham and the rain forests of Manchester. This week saw the first successful prosecutions for Female Genital Mutilation in British Courts. This give you some idea just how serious the plight of the African Clitoris has become.

Why do Africans hunt the Clitoris so fanatically? Why do Africans do any of the things they do? People on the left of the political spectrum blame it on the effects of colonialisation. Others say most of Africa’s problems are a result of too little colonialisation. Take for example the case of Burkina Faso, which sounds like a nasty disease contracted through having unprotected sex with warthogs but is in fact an African country.

You’d never heard of it? No worries, neither have most of the people who live there. Burkina Faso is one of the poorest nations on earth. Out of 229 nations, there are only 26 whose inhabitants manage to earn less per head every year and this includes Italy where sensible people don’t earn anything at all officially.

There is little electricity in Burkina Faso, and where there is a supply it doesn’t work for days on end. Fresh water is at a premium and in many places even water that an elephant has shat in is scarce. Education is practically non-existent.

The men sit in the shade of the Shea trees when they are not hunting and destroying the African Clitoris, whilst the women laboriously grind the Shea nuts into Sheanut butter to complement the endless diet of millet porridge. When it gets cold at night, the men stir themselves to chop down the nearest Shea tree for firewood thus making a bad situation even worse. Every year they lose 32,000 hectares of the very trees they are dependent on for protein in their diet. That’s the kind of place it is …

And what happens to all the aid money given by western taxpayers to the great and good, the charity millionaires in the hope that their benificence and superior intelligence can improve life in places like Burkino Faso? Take a look at this:

Tony Blair handed £3 million slice of Barack Obama’s aid for Africans

Tony Blair is celebrating another multi-million pound contract after his charity secured a key deal with the US government.

This time, the former prime minister’s Africa Governance Initiative (AGI) has won a £3.3 million contract to play a key role in Barack Obama’s flagship African aid programme.

The three-year deal – with the US Agency for International Development (USAID) – gives Mr Blair’s charity an important role in the initiative, called Power Africa. The money represents more than AGI’s combined total income in 2012, the most recent set of accounts available.

The Crimea Referendum: tragedy or farce?

March 16, 2014

We have a while to wait for the official result of the referendum in crimea about whether the autonomous territory will split from Ukraine and join Russia but with voting finished exit polls are predicting 93% of Crimeans have voted for a Russian future.

Its probably just coincidence that the votes for Russia are more or less in line with the numbers who used to vote for the government in elections under the soviet regime.

But enough whimsy, where does this leave the EU and USA? The EU has already rejected the vote on the grounds that voting for options Brussels does not like is undemocratic and violates international law and citing the Irish referendum on the Lisbon Treaty as a precedent will demand that the people of Crimea vote again and keep voting until they get it right. But what of America? This is how one Russian cartoonist sees it:

If the result is confirmed as it surely will be, this leaves Obama and his Scooby Doo villain Secretary Of State in a spot. After all the threats and sabre rattling they now have to do something. But what?

Beanz Meanz War

March 16, 2014

It can’t be the rent boy President who is pushing the USA to war with Russia over Ukraine can it? He’s the peacemaker and joybringer after all, the great conciliator whose skin colour along was going to make us forget our differences and all join hands and sing Kumbaya. So as Vladimir Putin remains intransigent about Russia’s claims to Ukraine, who exactly is propelling the push to war?.

It can’t be little William Hague, he hasn’t got the balls; or Francoise Hollande, he’s too busy with his many mistresses. That leaves only one possible candidate US Secretary of State, the Scooby Doo villain lookalike John Kerry.

Kerry- the creeperScooby Doo villain John Kerry

Let’s get this straight, right? Last week the USA sent Kerry to negotiate a peace settlement and Kerry told Russsia if the Crimea independence referendum goes ahead there will be consequences. The United States tells us is all for democracy and democracy is about voting and making sure the majority rules. If a majority in Crimea votes to align itself with Russia because most Crimeans have an affinity for Russia, the United States and the United Nations, the latter sitting on the lap of the former, will decide democracy is illegal. And then there will be war.

Yesterday Estonian Defense Minister Urmas Reinsalu said he’s sure Russia plans to invade Ukraine. This was carried uncritically and sans any objective examination by the corporatist establishment media in the United States. Ukra ine has admitted there are no Russian troops on the border poised to strike but the US Administration chooses to behave as if Reinsalu is Putin’s official messenger. And who is the loudest rattler of the US sabre? John Kerry.

What does Kerry have to gain from war you might well ask.

It is traditional in US futures markets that the run up to war causes a spike in the price of pork bellied and beans. And what business is the source of John Kerry’s billionaire wife?

E Bomb? Putin Has Obama Over A Fracking Barrel Again

March 7, 2014

putin responds to obama
Putin Responds To Obama’s Latest Ultiumatum. Source

In the wake of Barack Obama’s latest complete humiliation at the hands of Vladimir Putin as the Ukraine crisis drags on, mainstream media in the west has continues to provide The Rent Boy President with the journalistic equivalent og Immaculate Body Service (look it up if you must, but not on a full stomach 😀 )

Take this article by Fraser Nelson in The Daily Telegraph for example:

For decades it has seemed as if God has played a great joke on mankind, granting the best fuel reserves to the worst places. Iran, Russia, Saudi Arabia, Turkmenistan [ … ]– As Vladimir Putin has found, if you own the gas which the rich world needs, then you can get away with murder.

Europe is a recession-struck continent dependent on a Kremlin-controlled energy price. Putin cleverly cut Gazprom tariffs to the region last year, ramping up its dependence on Russian gas to record levels. And in so doing, he effectively bought EU foreign policy.

He’d find it harder to buy America’s nowadays. As Barack Obama considers his options, he has a substantial new weapon that he is not sure how to deploy. In the last few years, the shale revolution has utterly transformed America’s energy fortunes. (Read all)

Poor little Fraser, even if his belief in shale were justified, he assumes Obama would have the nous or the balls to use America’s mythical abundance of gas to outmanoeuvre Putin.

Meanwhile, in a rare attack of journalistic integrity, Huffington Post reported this:

Deepening Doubts About Fracked Shale Gas Wells’ Long Term Prospects”

“The oil and gas industry has propagated a vision that fracking unleashes vast amounts of gas which then flows relatively steadily for decades. But a growing mountain of evidence suggests that nothing could be further from the truth. Shale gas wells dry up, sometimes long before they have produced enough gas to cover the costs of drilling and fracking them.”

In the oldest shale formation, Texas’s Barnett shale, many aging wells have had to be re-fracked multiple times to keep them from runningdry. Re-fracking costs millions of dollars and requires millions of gallons of water.

A review last year by the New York Times found that less than ten percent of 9,000 Texas shale wells had recouped their estimated production costs within their first seven years.

Added to that, there is a huge body of opposition to fracking building up in the USA, with many far fetched horror stories about blazing rap water and awakening demons being given credibility.

The economic letown will be the deal breaker of course, when shale gas turns out to be no more viable a solution for our energy needs than windmills, a lot of people are going to lose a lot of money.

Well she’s a beauty therapist

March 7, 2014

Gotta love Blackpool beauty therapist Gemma Worrall who went viral on Twitter after posting a tweet in which she referred to President Barack Obama as “Barraco Barner”, and appeared to think he was president of the UK.

In a pithy comment about the Ukraine crisis, Gemma, 20, innocently asked: “why is our president Barraco Barner getting involved with Russia, scary.”

She found herself at the centre of global attention with social media users branding the message a new low for ‘dumb Britain’.

Oh come on guys, let’s give the lass a break: ONE Barraco Barner doesn;t even know his own name, legally he is Barry Soetoro – having never legally changed his name from the one he took when adopted by his Indonesian stepfather; TWO don’t forget Gemma is a beauty therapist …

Oh fuck! I’ve just remembered my daughter is a beauty therapist. This is why we’ve always excused her for thinking Pontefract is in Wales.
